College Chal
fair trade and fashion-forward
For the shawl (CHAL in Spanish) we start with fine rayon thread and create a soft, loose weave that sits gently around your shoulders. We add pin stripe accents running the length of the chal to complement its primary color. To finish, we knot the loose ends of the weave into soft tassels. With over twelve square feet of woven fabric, the chal is a versatile and fun accessory.
The “chal” is the creation of Juana Buc in Santa Catarina. She sells
traditional and fashion-forward shawls from her kiosk in the main
regional artisan market and brought Aldea her idea of making more
of these shawls in these swanky colors.
